A Few words to share about Fathers!

For the men who understand it's important to be a Man not a male!
For the men who tuck their kids in bed at night.
For the men who love their wives more than they love themselves1
For the men who sacrifice for their children...
For the men who show their children how to be strong yet humble...
For the men who came from nothing; but in their child's eyes....

In their child's eyes, they ARE everything...The Hero...Superman...
and have the HEART of Edward Scissorhands...

For the men who find their rest in God...
For the men who Allow God to be their STRENGTH in those MOMENTS
where the situation is too much to bear...

For the men who can say "I LOVE YOU" and can show the love
For the men who aren't afraid to embrace their sons...
For the men who aren't afraid of INTIMACY!!!

These words aren't for the men who send a check....
These words are only for the ones who spend quality time with their children!

THESE MEN ARE THE EXAMPLES FOR OTHERS TO FOLLOW...

I HUMBLY SAY THANK YOU TO ALL THOSE KINGS OUT THERE!

A Nation, War, Bloodshed and Community

I am a veteran of the United States Army, trained many years ago.
I remember reviewing information which would help a soldier identify
aircraft, tanks, flags etc.
We would be prepared to face an enemy from any nation; only the enemy isn't
across the waters any longer, not on different continents but right here at home.
 From my point of view:
Our nation has declared war on drugs
Our nation has declared war on crime
Our nation has declared war on education
 (making sure our children are better prepared for college)
Our nation has declared war on obesity
Our nation has declared war on healthcare or lack there of
Our nation has declared war on homelessness
Our nation has began to pursue a strategy on mental illness

And Yet

There is a polititian who has declared war on the current administration and has decided
to place blame on the President of United States. I don't understand the mindset.
Forty-nine innocent people lost their lives; 53 injured and the majority of those killed were Hispanic.
This terriorist targeted a people as well as a community.



Terriorism is a beast that our government fights continually and strategically.

Hate breeds Hate....

The blood that was shed was red!  Blood flowing within us helps us substain Life!
It doesn't matter what your race, ethnicity, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation is....
The Blood is still Red....

The people in Orlando are hurting!!!!
Father's day won't be celebrated in some households this weekend!
Preparations for homegoings will be the task at hand!
Coming to grips with the loss of loved ones will be the priority!
Politians show compassion, let the nation see your HUMANITY!
The families need to see that their loss matters not polititcal strategy!

She vowed to share it with the world

She developed strength as she watched her mom battle cancer

She listened to her mom's voice

She stepped onto a stage to share her gift

 She entertained an audience...the last sound she would hear....

 Her Voice silenced due to the mental illness of another!

 AND more gun violence in the days to follow...

 I'm saddened by the loss of life,

dreams that parents have for their children gone because of the sound of gunfire.

A choice made, a misguided agenda carried out

Parents left to grieve for the life that could have been....

My condolences to the families of the voices who are now silent.

The lady in the photo is on a path and I'm not sure what her destination is...
This caused me to ponder on a quote written by Howard Thurman:

"There are two questions that we have to ask ourselves. The 1st is " Where am I going?" and 
  the 2nd is "Who will go with me?"

  If you ever get these questions in the wrong order , you are in trouble.

As a kid, I remember planning with my grade school classmates, which state we would live in and our career choices.  Thirty plus years later, I'm wondering which path did the other three take and who journeyed with them or did they opt to travel alone.  

As I get older, my destination determines who travels the path with me.
